As part of the 1993 Challenge for Cape Cod Wetlands campaign, Barnstable Land Trust approached Mrs. Elizabeth Rex Paul about donating her property on Barnstable’s Great Marsh. She agreed, and in late 1994 the donation of 23.27 acres of wetland was finalized. The lot is the former site of the James Otis homestead, along Bridge Creek, and falls within the state-designated Area of Critical Environmental Concern.
