After John Hall II realized the extensive permitting process he would need to go through in order to build on his 20.39 acre lot along the Great Marsh in Barnstable, he decided it was not worth it and that the land was too environmentally sensitive. He instead decided to donate it to Barnstable Land Trust, making it BLT’s sixth holding on the south side of the Great Marsh. The plot contains both upland and wetland, and was previously the site of a cranberry bog.
