Karol B. Wyckoff
"Winter Light"
Watercolor
$950
“Because of my background in illustration and draftsmanship, I felt I could capture this charming old building overlooking the quiet Centerville River. I chose to make it a winter scene because the season conveys warmth, peace and serenity.”

"Unwinding"
Colored pencil, handmade paper, wood
$400
"My chosen parcel is a narrow strip of woodland running along a forgotten stage route. It reminds me of special ribbon and fabric remnants I’ve collected over the years. I hoped to capture the intimacy of a walk in these woods, revealing nature like unfurling a piece of keepsake cloth.” |

"Salt Marsh, Osterville"
Acrylic
$1,800
“My painting is a free interpretation of BLT’s Sawyer property at the edge of Little Island. What I liked most in the scene was the dialogue between bay and marsh, each having a strong voice and each saying, ‘Look at me.’”

"Hathaway Pond South"
Watercolor
$850
"This plein air painting was painted on a very warm, bright afternoon of Wednesday, May 13th with Russian water colors, number 4 and 8 brushes and a small rigor brush for detail. I painted as fast as I could, and if insects landed or crawled on the paper I painted them as well. So if you look very closely you might see little tiny insect tracks. It’s this type of experience that makes me yell at my students to paint faster!

"A View from Attucks Lane"
Acrylic
$800
"When I visited the site on April 23, I expected to see only dull, neutral tones, but to my surprise, I found colorful grasses, glorious reflections in the water, and beautiful light on the trees!
The tall trees in the foreground suggested the image to be a vertical painting. It was a magical scene moving me even further to support OPEN SPACE on Cape Cod."

“The piece of land at the end of Rendezvous Lane is so beautiful because it looks across the water to the venerable old houses and lighthouse on Sandy Neck. The view crystallizes my memories of when my parents first took our family on holiday to ‘Old Cape Cod.’”

"The Vernal Cape"
Watercolor
$2,400
A close friend who grew up in Cotuit, took me to this secret place on the Galloway property just as spring was taking hold of the Cape. It felt like we were lost in time.
My inspiration is best summed up by the following excerpt from a poem titled “the Tables Turned” by William Wordsworth
One impulse from a vernal wood
May teach you more of man,
Of moral evil and of good,
Than all the sages can.

"Cordwood Winter Walk"
Oil
$1,200
"On a sun drenched winter day, I set out with my daughter Lyn to explore the Cotuit woodland known as Cordwood. As she was walking several yards ahead on the pathway, her figure became perfectly framed against the silver oaks and cobalt sky. Inspired by this moment, I began to paint my experience with nature."

"Spirit of the Marsh"
Reeds and assorted found materials
$1,150
I had never been to South Meadow Point before. When I arrived on a foggy misty morning, I was moved by the stillness. The transition from the marsh with its ducks and swooping birds to the amazing distant view of Popponesset Bay was made even more beautiful by the shrill sounds of a pair of osprey atop their nesting platform.
