For the first time ever, BLT has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod. The nonprofit housing organization acquired a three-acre parcel of land on Sesame Street off Oak Street in Marstons Mills. Two of those parcels will be the site of two new affordable homes. However, Habitat for Humanity donated the third parcel, part of an abandoned cranberry bog, to Barnstable Land Trust as the appropriate steward for this environmentally sensitive land.
The cranberry bog is part of land that has been on the Town’s open space priority list since 1985 and is surrounded by other conservation land.
