Presentation of the 2017 Founders’ Award:
Redmond “Red” Bansfield
In 2000 Red Bansfield walked into the BLT office and volunteered to help with title research. After two years as an essential volunteer, BLT hired him as its Land Management Coordinator, overseeing land management efforts for all of BLT’s properties. Among his many duties, Red is responsible for monitoring conservation restrictions; in addition, over the years he has worked closely with volunteers and AmeriCorps service members performing crucial tasks such as trail maintenance, invasive species removal, and ongoing clean-up efforts. He has also led popular nature walks for BLT’s Walks & Talks program including Hidden Hyannis and the Marstons Mills Turtle Island Trek among others.
We hope you’ll join us as we honor Red for his many years of service to Barnstable Land Trust and our natural environment.
RSVP at events@BLT.org or call the office at 508-771-2585.
