Community Preservation Act Conservation Restrictions

harju_300When municipalities purchase land for conservation with Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds, the land must be protected by a perpetual Conservation Restriction (CR). The Town of Barnstable has asked Barnstable Land Trust to hold those CRs.

On July 25, 2017 a conservation restriction was placed on 14 acres of land on Sandy Neck in Barnstable, which was purchased by the Town in 2015. BLT is currently working with the Town on three additional CRs, totaling 5.65 acres in the villages of Centerville, Hyannis and Marstons Mills.
