Annual CoastSweep Beach Clean-Up – September 27

Meet at the Oregon Beach Town Way to Water

Join BLT for our 8th year cleaning the shoreline of southern Cotuit during the annual statewide CoastSweep! Our assignment is Oregon Beach, which is only about 30 feet wide. If there are enough volunteers, we’ll also patrol a larger area. Last year 3 teams, working for about 2 hours, covered Loop Beach to Popponesset Bay.

Details about collected items are recorded onto cards, which ultimately will be entered into a massive marine debris database. Bring gloves and some small trash bags (such as plastic supermarket bags). Families with young children are welcome. We hope to see you there!

Drive to the far end of Main Street, Cotuit, and park on the side of the Town Way to Water. Parking is limited; carpooling is encouraged. Please be respectful of the privately-owned property on either side of the small parking area.

Let BLT Land Manager Red Bansfield know you’re coming so he’ll have enough trash bags, gloves, etc. Call the BLT office at 508-771-2585 or email Red at
