for his passion to advocate for renewable energy and sustainability.
Conrad Geyser is committed personally and professionally to protecting and sustaining Cape Cod’s precious natural resources. In 1988, he started a renewable energy and sustainability business, Cotuit Solar LLC, which has grown to employ 17 people. A resident of Cotuit for over 30 years, Conrad strives to work with, not against, nature. He has been described as someone who is one hundred percent committed to living in harmony with the earth…a model for all of us who wish to minimize our impact on the environment.
Admitting that he is “completely fascinated and obsessed” with solar energy, he firmly believes that using fossil fuels to do something we could do with reusable resources is not just foolish but wrong. An advocate of waterless toilets, organic gardening, more bike paths, and recycling, he truly is someone who lives simply and gently on the land. Conrad is a living example of the old adage, “Think globally, act locally.”
Barnstable Land Trust annually honors an individual, organization, business or governmental organization who has acted in the spirit of our Founders. The award is given “for having the vision to empower the people of Barnstable to preserve the essence of Cape Cod – its open spaces and natural resources, wetlands, woodlands and wildlife.”
