Description: Phase 1 of “Save Bayview Farm” protected 14.74 acres, including a picturesque 2-acre scenic meadow. The fragile Bridge Creek estuary, which feeds the Great Marsh, is further protected by the remaining12.74 acres of salt marsh. Located at the crossroads of scenic Rte. 6A and the railroad tracks, all of the land protects the Sandy Neck/Barnstable Harbor Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC). The effort, led by The Nature Conservancy, was supported by the US Fish & Wildlife Service as well as numerous gifts and grants. Now owned by BLT, the land is further protected by a conservation restriction purchased by the Mass. Department of Conservation and Recreation.
