This indoor-only presentation by Gil Newton will survey the marine plants and animals along the Cape shoreline, their ecology, and the diverse habitats in which they are found. The participants will learn about these different marine habitats on Cape Cod and the incredible diversity of living things along the shore. We will explore this fragile ecosystem to discover the fascinating diversity of life along the edge of the sea. This will include marine mollusks, crabs, echinoderms, jellyfish, seaweeds, and other common species. Many of these organisms are also economically important, and are being affected by rising sea level and other effects of climate change. This event is in-person only.
