A Window

by rose auslander

Some days, all we can do

is pray for even the smallest

miracle. A path that wasn’t

here yesterday, to water

that didn’t flow the day before.

A rustle of branches. A raft

of ducks taking wing.

A meadow. A pond.

A rock to sit on. A window

in the sky.
