She has municipal and regional government planning experience and worked locally for three years at the Cape Cod Commission. She has also held positions in the private sector as a Donor Support Manager for ActBlue; a Program Manager for WasteZero implementing sustainability programs for municipalities; a Climate Change & Energy Project Manager for Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences; and as a planner for Alta, a sustainable transportation planning firm.

Sandy graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science with High Honors in Conservation and Resources, and a minor in City and Regional Planning, with a declared area of concentration in Sustainable City and Regional Planning. Her educational framework emphasized sustainability initiatives, conservation and energy/resource management, sustainable transport and transit-oriented development, smart growth principles, and state and federal regulatory policies.

Sandy enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and daughter and loves the multiple seasonal opportunities afforded by living in New England, such as kayaking and swimming at their pond-front home in the summer and ice skating, skiing, and sledding in the winter.
