She’ll introduce you to the stunning beauty of the wilderness trail, to stories of mishaps and triumphs, and to her hiking partners, dubbed with the trail-name The Three Women. Joan’s adventure memoir, Force of Nature: Three Women Tackle the John Muir Trail—equal parts gripping adventure tale, personal memoir, and vivid nature writing—is an inspiring story that will have you planning your own next great adventure.
