A diverse garden is a healthy garden, but sometimes we are working with small spaces and it a challenge to fit everything in that we want to grow. We talk about companion planting as a strategy to increase diversity and plant health, resist diseases, deter pests, and save space simultaneously. We will discuss spatial relationships in the garden, considering the specific shapes and functions of different plant species and how they “fit” together, from the veggie garden to the food forest.
