Nature Journaling in Practice

Henry David Thoreau wrote that “The indescribable innocence of and beneficence of Nature,-of sun and wind and rain, of summer and winter,-such health, such cheer, they afford forever!” Explore the art of Nature Journaling with the Centerville Public Library and art educator Lenore Lyons. After a brief meeting inside, the group will explore the grounds of the Centerville Library and document what they observe in this hands-on workshop for people of all ages. All supplies provided. Free/pre-registration required. This program is associated with BLT's Thoreau's Cape Cod Readathon, a 2-day live event sponsored by Rockland Trust to be held at Fuller Farm in Marstons Mills on October 7 & 8.

Twenty years ago or so, Lenore Lyons was looking for something to do outside that didn’t involve a ball or running around. She discovered Nature Journaling and has been documenting her life since then. She teaches journaling locally at the Cape Cod Art Museum.  Lenore is a retired art teacher and the former president of the Board of Directors of the Cape and Islands Art Educators. She developed The Key Idea, an interactive art project for folks 1-100+ and is featured in the book, I Am of Cape Cod, by Whelan and Rodriques.
