Celebrate National Book Month and Sandwich native Thornton Burgess's 150 Anniversary with local author, Christie Palmer Lowrance, who will present a talk on “Nature’s Ambassador: The Life and Legacy of Sandwich’s Native Son, Thornton W. Burgess.” Discover more about the life of Thornton W. Burgess and his impact and lasting legacy. The 320-page beautifully illustrated biography lavishly details Burgess’ Sandwich childhood and his work as a respected naturalist, wildlife advocate, children’s author, and pioneer in environmental education and radio programming.
