The Floating Garden: An Ecological Innovation at Eagle Pond

You are invited to take a walk around Cotuit's Eagle Pond to learn more about the floating garden built by the Saint John Paul II AP Environmental Science class last spring! From conception to completion, the AP EnviSci class - working in conjunction with Mullen Building, Barnstable Land Trust, Town of Barnstable and BlueBlocks Floating Gardens, via Thread Collective, based in Brooklyn NY - designed, constructed, and installed this sustainable floating garden. Meet the students and Town of Barnstable partners and learn how the floating garden provides a habitat for local pond life, filters pollutants from the water, and helps prevent harmful algae blooms—all of which contribute to the long-term sustainability of Eagle Pond. This program is part of BLT's month-long Climate Conversations series which is sponsored in part by Solar Rising, a Cape Cod based full service solar installation company.
