Registration for 2022 Tour de Barnstable Bike Ride Opens on January 9

Barnstable, MA – The Tour de Barnstable, a fundraising event benefitting three local nonprofits, will open registration to bike riders on Sunday, January 9, at 10 am.  The 38-mile scenic ride through each of the 7 villages in the Town of Barnstable is scheduled for Sunday, June 5. Celebrating its seventh anniversary, the ride is a joint venture between SeaSports Cyclery and Outdoors of Hyannis and three local nonprofit partners including Barnstable Land Trust (BLT), Calmer Choice, and DEVO Cycling. This year also marks the return to an in-person cycling event after several years of virtual participation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Riders who sign-up before March 18 will enjoy an early bird discounted registration fee of $85 and receive a special pair of branded socks in addition to the standard benefits of one post-event meal, one drink ticket, and an event shirt.  After March 18, the fee increases to $95 until June 2nd when registration closes. There will be no same-day registration.  Riders can sign up at https://www.bikereg.com/tour-de-barnstable. More information and a map of route which follows backroads alongside several of Barnstable Land Trust’s conservation properties is available at https://tourdebarnstable.com.

“I’m thrilled that the Tour de Barnstable is returning to an in-person event this year,” said Sea Sports Cyclery and Outdoor owner Jeff Craddock. “There is simply no replacement for the community spirit that hundreds of riders generate during a ‘live’ ride event like this.  Supporting local nonprofits like Barnstable Land Trust (BLT), Calmer Choice, and DEVO Cycling, make it an even more meaningful experience for our riders and the community we serve.”

Riders also have the opportunity to fundraise additional funds for one of the charities listed above at pledgereg.com.
