Henry David Thoreau wrote that “A journal, is a book that shall contain a record of all your joy, your ecstasy, what you are grateful for.” Explore the art of Nature Journaling with the Centerville Public Library and art educator Lenore Lyons. Learn how to start keeping a nature journal, get drawing and writing tips, and look at different types and sizes of journals in this hands-on workshop for people of all ages. All supplies provided. Free/pre-registration required. This program is associated with BLT's Thoreau's Cape Cod Readathon, a 2-day live event sponsored by Rockland Trust to be held at Fuller Farm in Marstons Mills on October 7 & 8.
Twenty years ago or so, Lenore Lyons was looking for something to do outside that didn’t involve a ball or running around. She discovered Nature Journaling and has been documenting her life since then. She teaches journaling locally at the Cape Cod Art Museum. Lenore is a retired art teacher and the former president of the Board of Directors of the Cape and Islands Art Educators. She developed The Key Idea, an interactive art project for folks 1-100+ and is featured in the book, I Am of Cape Cod, by Whelan and Rodriques.
