Seaweed Storytime with Gil Newton (Partner Program)

Seaweed is commonly found along the Cape’s beaches but is frequently overlooked and misunderstood. How is seaweed important to animal life? What are the names of the different kinds of seaweeds? Are seaweeds plants? Are there any species that are invasive and can cause environmental problems? Which ones are edible or used in different industries? These questions and others will be answered in a presentation by ecologist and author Gil Newton!

This Children’s Story Time will be at 10am on Saturday May 30th in the Lillian Dixie Morton Children’s Room at the Osterville Village Library. This program is brought to you as part of a partnership between the Barnstable Land Trust and the Osterville Village Library.
