Kelly Barber
Director of Land Stewardship
Kelly Barber joined BLT in 2019 as our Director of Land Stewardship. Originally from Lansdale, PA, Kelly has been drawn to the Northeast since her time at Unity College in Maine, where she double-majored in Ecology and Environmental Analysis. Kelly’s drive to protect nature started in middle school, where she realized the importance of protecting the outdoor places where she enjoys spending her time. Her commitment to giving back to the community and working to conserve nature led her to spend four terms with AmeriCorps, starting in St. Louis and ending in Cape Cod, where she decided to stay. She found the hands-on experience as a land steward in AmeriCorps proved to be a good fit as it allowed her to give back to the community, while connecting with other people who share her passion for protecting and stewarding open space.
In her spare time, Kelly enjoys hiking, running, biking, good craft beer, and gardening. She is also a Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters, a commitment she recognizes as long-term, but with great benefits like being able to give back to the community and spend time as a role model and positive influence in a child’s life.
